We’re healthcare activists who understand the challenges you face as you manage your chronic condition. Through education and community outreach initiatives, ARJ gives you a voice!
You Deserve More
Your ARJ care team is passionate about advocating locally and nationally to ensure you have access to the care you require—and the support you deserve.
Our goal is to educate patients, legislators, medical professionals, and the community. As part of our efforts over the past 20 years, we’ve gained national recognition for improving the health of children and adults with rare and chronic disorders.
We Were Busy In 2019!
ARJ’s business professionals pounded the pavement on behalf of patients this year at conferences, lectures, and learning symposiums across the nation. A few stops along the way included the American Gastro Annual Scientific Meeting in San Antonio; GBS CIDP Regional Conference in Boston; and Kansas City Healthcare Community Symposium, just to name a few.
Amber Kyle, ARJ's Director of Pharmacy, was a featured speaker at Kansas Pharmacists Association's 139th Annual Meeting in September. Her presentation included a clinical overview of hemophilia that examined the importance of treatment maintenance and explored new therapies on the rise.
In October, we were proud to welcome U.S. Rep. Sharice Davids to our ARJ headquarters location in Kansas City, where she toured the specialty pharmacy and learned about the innovative work we do to treat patients with chronic disorders.
We also joined Gateway Hemophilia Association and Midwest Hemophilia Association for Missouri Bleeding Disorder Advocacy Day, where patients shared their stories with legislators and talked about the importance of access to quality healthcare for people with hemophilia.
In November we helped patients and families enroll in the Health Insurance Marketplace—and empowered people who rely on infusion care to make informed decisions about their healthcare coverage in the new year.
Leading the Way
ARJ partners with organizations across the nation to create awareness and make a positive impact. Through our work with advocacy groups, we secure financial assistance, lifestyle resources, education, transportation, and translation services for patients, families, and caregivers. In 2019, ARJ secured over $6 million in these crucial, life-changing resources for patients.
ARJ’s Patient Engagement Department hosted a Back to School Fair for school-bound patients, located scholarship opportunities, found food and gifts for people struggling during the holiday season, and laced up our sneakers in a show of support at the Hemophilia of Iowa Walk, Midwest Hemophilia Association Walk, Arthritis Foundation’s Walk to Cure Arthritis, and Hemophilia Federation of America’s Gears for Good Bike Ride.
But we didn't stop there! We also participated in numerous sponsorships and chapter events to benefit Myasthenia Gravis Association, Arthritis Foundation’s “Arthritis 101” program, the 7th Annual James and Nancy Cassidy Rheumatology Symposium, and offered free continuing education opportunities to clinicians in our organization and our community.
