Providers can help patients plan ahead with ARJ’s Travel Check-off List—without disrupting treatment.
Keep your patient's care team in the loop
As patients start planning for vacation, inform their specialty pharmacy and care team to ensure they have supplies and medications on hand.
Locate a nearby hospital.
Remind your patient to locate a hospital near their destination that’s familiar with specialty pharmacy and infusion therapy in case of an emergency.
Plan ahead for scheduled infusions.
Encourage your patient to work with their specialty pharmacy to ensure successful infusions away from home. Their care team can coordinate supplies, medication, and treatment schedules.
Call ahead regarding special accommodations.
Patients may want to contact their hotel or campground to make sure they have access to special accommodations, such as a refrigerator to store medication.
With a little advance planning and help from ARJ, your patients are free to focus on the fun of their travels!
